For the United States, we’ve just added Student Loans data from the U.S. Department of Education. The dataset is divided between loan servicers (Nelnet, PHEEA, Great Lakes, Navient, and Not-for-profit Servicers), and available as number of persons and amount outstanding.
In the chart below, we aggregated the various loan servicers to look at the current repayment situation. The pandemic has had a major impact as the chart shows: forbearance and repayment shifted dramatically in Q2 2020, with only 1,4% paying back their student loans today.
Mongolia
For Mongolia, we’ve expanded our macroeconomic data coverage with the additions of Non-Performing Loans, from the Central Bank.
In the chart below, we represented the various breakdowns as stacked area. It is worth noting the increasing share of NPL from individuals since 2019, now close to account for 30% of total NPL in Mongolia– and back to the high levels pre- 2009.
Bahamas
For the Bahamas, we’ve added Tourist Arrivals, from the Central Bank. Data is available on a quarterly basis, and broken-down per mean of transport: Air, Cruise, Sea, and Stopover.
In the Bar Chart below, we can see the impact of Covid-19 – with almost no arrivals from Q2 toQ4 2020. Tourism activity is now slowly starting again, but it will take some time to come back to the average arrival numbers.
