United States 

During the past two weeks, we have expanded our real estate coverage for the United States. One of the main additions is the NMHC (National Multifamily Housing Council) quarterly survey covering the apartments market. The survey is conducted towards CEOs and other senior executives of apartment-related firms nationwide.

In the chart below, we displayed the “market tightness index”, which tracks the overall conditions of the U.S. apartments market, together with the “sales volume index”. 

For the first index, a reading above 50 indicates that the market is tightening. For the sales volume index, a reading above 50 signals that sales are increasing in volume terms. 

World

We have complemented our offering for climate-related time series with the addition of the “global temperature anomalies data” provided by NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration). 

The time series, displayed in the chart below, covers land and ocean temperature anomalies on a monthly basis, starting in 1850. Anomalies amplitude started to take off from the 1980s, in a worryingly exponential pattern. 

Thailand

Weekly tourism arrivals are now available for Thailand. The Ministry of Tourism & Sports now provides a weekly dataset, covering total tourism arrivals as well as arrivals from 5 countries: Russia, India, South Korea, China, and Malaysia. 

These five countries represent in average 50% of the total arrivals, as displayed in the chart below.
